We’re very careful about placing
students accurately. Our placement process puts you on the fast-track to success in just four easy steps:
1. TOEFL ® score*: provides an estimate of your overall English skills
2. WRITTEN EXAM: analyzed for content, organization, vocabulary,
grammar, and punctuation
3. ORAL EXAM: one-on-one assessment of your listening, speaking, and
pronunciation skills
4. Confirmation from your classroom teacher after initial placement
Level changes are based on classroom grades, teacher recommendations, and TOEFL ® scores.
*TOEFL ® scores by level (paper/computer):
Level One: 390/90 – 400/97
Level Two: 400/97 – 450/133
Level Three: 450/133 – 500/173
Level Four: 500/173 – 550/213
